Time for another country change. Leaving Malaysia for Thailand. Kuala Lumpur for Bangkok. I decided to fly with Malindo Air. Why? A couple of reasons. One would be the machine. A first time on a 739, another one could be the price. The timing of the flight was good as well. Overall on the route from KUL/SZB to BKK/DMK you have a very wide choice of airlines. From low-cost likes of Air Asia and Malindo to some exotics like Egypt Air and Ethiopian. Everyone will find something that will suit them.

9M-LNG Boeing 737-9GP/ER
Arrived at the airport early in order to have some time for a little spotting. After easily finding my way to the Malindo Air check-in counter I leave my bag and go for a little walk in the general area before proceeding to the passport and security checks. Airside you have a wide range of shops to choose from and a couple, so called, lounges like a movie or sport lounge where you may have a rest watching TV in a quiet corner. KLIA2 is divided into 4 piers from which each has its own security control. Most of the attractions are in the middle section so I do suggested going to the gate rather later than earlier because there ain't much to do. So I just walk here and there before going to the gate itself.
Before boarding we are handed out immigration forms for Thailand. Today the flight will be operated by 9M-LNG, a 2013 built 737-900ER. My first feeling after entering the plane? Very positive. Is this really something we call a LCC in Europe? It sure doesn't look so! True business class seats, a shiny Sky Interior and those windows. The service included in the basic price is slim - true, a small snack and a glass of water. Nothing more. You have the possibility to buy a meal before your flight or choose from the in-flight snack bar to buy on board.
A on-time departure with a on-time arrival. During the flight we maneuver around a couple of storm clouds which make a fantastic background for pictures. The approach is over Bangkok city at dusk leaving us with a possibility to witness the sheer size of the city.
Overall, I do recommend Malindo for flights in the ASEAN. I had a fantastic flight, but see for yourself on the photos and videos. Hint: no windows at seats: 10A, 11AF
