Turkey

A couple of months ago (February 2014 to be exact) I've been in Turkey for a week. During the 7 days I took 5 flights on 3 different types with 3 different airlines to 4 different airports. It was more of a sightseeing trip than a aviation one. I simply wasn't too keen on spending an entire week in one city. This time I shall post about all the flights in this one post, but in the future I'll try and make a post for each flight with a review of the flight, my feelings, photos and so on... Lets begin! For polish speaking readers a trip report is available here.

Itinerary: WAW-IST-ADB-ESB-IST-WAW
Warsaw - Istanbul - Warsaw with LOT Polish Airlines on board a Boeing 737-400

Istanbul - Izmir and Ankara - Istanbul with
Turkish Airlines both flight on a Airbus A321

Izmir - Ankara with Anadolujet on board a Boeing 737-800

Flight 1.
LOT135
Warsaw Chopin to Istanbul Ataturk Airport.
Plane: SP-LLG
The good ol' 737. One of only 3 currently flying with LOT, maybe not the newest interior, but the sound is great. Reasonable comfort, catering although you have to pay for it is really good!
F-GTAD after taxiing into position.
EI-EUY had an emergency landing couple of days before.
Loading this A332 before its flight to OMDB
Departure from runway 29.
Fire Department on the left, one of our spotting locations on the right
Passing above Lviv.
Milky above the Black Sea.
Final approach, the Sultanahmet is visible above the engine

Flight 2.
THY2336
Istanubl Ataturk to Izmir Adnan Menderes.
Plane: TC-JSE
The A321 was fully packed to the roof. An ordinary flight with an extraordinary comfort and catering as for a short flight like that one. The IFE worked and who had their own headphones could listen to music or watch a movie (you could watch one without sound as well :P ), The less demanding could simply watch our route on a map.
In-flight. No free seat.
Economy seats just in front of the 2L doors.

Business class seats.
Going for luggage in ADB

Flight 3.
THY7005
Izmir Adnan Menderes to Ankara Esanboga.
Plane: TC-SBI
TC-SBI is a ex. Ryanair plane flying with Anadolujet a subsidiary of Turkish Airlines. It is a cheaper version of TK operating the less demanding routes. Main bases: ESB and SAW. All eceonomy configurations with 189 reclining seats. The load factor on that particular flight wasn't the highest. The flight was delayed almost an hour. A flight like a flight, nothing particular happened. Anadolujet didn't make my "don't fly with if you don't have to" list.
The terminal from the pathway to the train station,
when construction works will finish it will be much easier to get to the train
The terminal inside, more or less the central area of the concourse
This is how you fly domestic here! A333 to IST
Climbing with a superb view on the city!
The airport visible in the top right.
Interior
Passing some snow covered mountain caps enroute
Final approach to ESB, monotonic landscape with just a couple of villages.
Overhead panel of todays ride.
Main panels in the cockpit.

Flight 4.
THY2167
Ankara Esanboga to Istanbul Ataturk
Plane: TC-JRT
A flight in the darkness. Not many photos, a typical A321 as in flight 2.The plane was nearly full. A very pleasant airport, quiet, easy to get around.
Terminal entrance
Inside the terminal
A nice guest standing aside us. TC-SUZ
Flight 5.
LOT136
Istanbul Ataturk to Warsaw Chopin
Plane: SP-LLF
Arrived at the airport with a lot of time till departure. Spacious hall, shops, restaurants, places under renovation. The airport sure is growing. Has a great connection with the city (subway). Nevertheless it might be hard for people that don't like crowds and prefer colorful themes.
IST departure hall
BA 763 G-BZHC waiting for passengers before the flight back to Heathrow
Loading procedure of this KLM 73W PH-BGI
One of ISTs many concourses.
Climbing out of LTBA
At cruising altitude.
The cabin, after everybody disembarked in Warsaw.
