EPWA 2016.08.27 Summer morning

I wanted to take advantage of the clear skies and sunny weather and take some morning arrivals shots. A plan is always good up to the moment when it stops being plausible. After two arrivals as planned on runway 11, one of the departures reported a heavy tailwind and all was switched. Back to the rather usual 29 ops. I planned to stay only around 1 hour but ended up almost 4. Nevertheless I'm happy about the outcome. Oh, and the MD11 which usually doesn't fly on Saturdays but because its flight got cancelled the day before it did on that day.

Another day, another delegation in Warsaw. Thanks to that visit, among others, Poles will soon have the possibility to travel to Kazakhstan visa free.

Due to some works in progress, runway 15/33 was closed. Thus the An124 visible in the last entry when it was supposed to depart we've been wondering whether or not will it wait for the longer runway to open or use the shortest one available for departures in Warsaw. They did not wait and what a sight it was!

One could say a day like any other (+ a An124 arrival) but no, a kinda special day for me as my little sister left Poland for around a year. But everyone has the right for self-accomplishment and personal growth.

EPWA 2016.08.17 Plus Ultra A340 and DHL B767

The summer season was a hard one for Small Planet Airlines. They encountered delays and fleet problems, sometimes they needed to wet-lease planes like the A340 from Plus Ultra in order to get their clients to their destinations. And later in the day one of DHLs Boeing 767s came in for some scheduled maintenance.

EPWA 2016.07.15 Small Planet Afriqiyah

Sometimes, this season more often, Small Planet airlines got different (non-Polish) planes to fly their routes. We even got one in a hybrid livery of Small Planet and Afriqiyah. Being a fan of the Libyan airlines livery passing on that photo opportunity would be a shame.

It arrived before most delegations, departed after most of them. The E-4B took a very nice turn on the taxiway before departing from runway 33. Additionally two C-17s came in for some transports.

EPWA 2016.07.09 NATO departures

After the middle of the night arrival of the Air Force one, I hoped for a daylight departure. Couple more minutes and that wouldn't happen. Quite nice weather gave the opportunity for some decent photos of most departing delegations. Various planes, various liveries, all of them not a daily sight.
